Presentation Princesses hard top V series model range offers serious performance together with a luxurious interior and sleek exteriors but always keeping the conservative Princess look to the overall package. This Princess V46 HT is an integrated hardtop model, with an electric sunroof opening in a few seconds to the sun or closing for the shade or rain protection. The best feature on this Princess is that is fitted with the latest evolution of TAMD series instead of the newer D-series. The TAMD is the absolute better choice when it comes to durability. It is an absolute indestructible engine.

Accommodation The accommodation for the Princess V46 is all about spacious spaces giving in all this more than one would imagine in a just-under-fifteen metre size. What you will like and not find on other open hard top boats is the super large u-shaped settee on the cockpit deck. Other valid points is the spacious salon settee with galley opposite feeling ultra large. New wooden flooring was laid by our crew. The aft deck welcomes you on board with a spacious sun lounger, housing under it a well sized tender garage with electric winch and double hydraulics for opening it. Going more to fore you find the much appreciated six-to-eight person u-shaped settee with wet bar opposite loaded with options like a grill and large moulded fridge. A dual seated helm station to starboard and opposite the super comfy lounge seat.

Below deck is the two double cabins along with the galley and salon. An area which is very spacious is surely the galley and salon. The two cabins have a different plan and layout. The cabins are located in this manner, double owners with en suite to fore, twin single berth to port midships, convertible to a double.

Performance The engine for the V46 is the latest evolution of Volvo’s well known TAMD-series. These TAMD75p-edc have an output of 480hp each and they are nearly indestructible. Expect 50.000+ running hours when operated frequently. Throttle wide open you’re gonna be amazed by these low-rpm engines. Princess continue with the tried and tested Bernard Olesinski modified vee hull, now used for over two decades by the British builder. Olesinski's hull are all about a deep vee entrance forward section and a moderate dead rise aft of eighteen degrees. Princess also used moulded tunnel propellers for reduced shaft angle and cleaner propeller water stream. Propeller pockets give a performance advantage over traditional shaft method although a perfect engine position and weight distribution is also important in order not to have the effect of a high bow ride with a lot of dragging aft.

Since ages the boats with centre mounted engines are the best.

Conclusion Sitting in the middle of the current ten model V series line up, the V46 is one of the best designs putting a great looking integrated hard top, with the usual integrity associated with the British marque. Three design solutions set the V46 apart, which are the six-to-eight person dinning settee on the main deck, spacious galley, and good performance with not so big engines. The Princess V46 also feels bigger to its actual size which is never a bad thing when you are on the water, and everything is seen small.
